Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of patients and caregivers affected by stroke.

Learning Objectives

  1. To enhance communications between stroke patients and their caregivers by increasing understanding of the complexities of their disease, its risk, its symptoms, therapeutic options, management strategies, and health outcomes.
  2. To explain and contrast the complex evidence-based clinical data, scientific concepts of stroke, and provide greater understanding on the role of different therapeutic agents – including treatment risks and benefits in disease management, as well as issues about safety, side-effects, and utility in the spectrum of management options related to stroke.
  3. To empower patients through effective education on stroke to be better partners with their health care providers thereby promoting better dialogue between patients and physicians leading to improved health outcomes.
